In this interview, Mr. Bedford discusses the New York State food processing industry, with particular focus on his own business. Topics include: the establishment and early growth of Bedford products in the 1930's; changes in the concentration of fruit juices from 1930 until 1950; his sales experiences; pioneering the production of concord grapes in Washington State; his recollection of using prisoners of war during World War II; the sale of Bedford Products to Kraft Foods Company; handling consumer complaints; and his experiences with the Food and Drug Administration.
